What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin to understand what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’re hoping for, your goals, and what you’ve tried in the past.
You don’t need to have everything figured out or even know exactly where to start. We’ll take it one step at a time. My goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and able to be yourself.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. We’ll usually meet weekly at first, and then adjust the frequency based on your needs and progress.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
Everyone’s journey is different, and there’s no set timeline for therapy. Some people come in with a specific concern and find that a few months of support is what they need, while others find it helpful to continue longer as they work through different challenges and areas of growth.
We’ll work together to understand what feels right for you. Along the way, we’ll check in about how things are going and whether therapy continues to feel helpful and meaningful. My goal is for therapy to meet you where you are and support you in the ways you need, for as long as it feels beneficial.
How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
Finding the right therapist is important, and feeling comfortable with the person you work with can make a real difference. Therapy is a process, and I believe it works best when it’s tailored to the individual and built on a genuine connection and sense of trust.
That’s why I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, share a little about what you’re looking for, and get a sense of whether we might be a good fit before getting started. Throughout the process, I also make space to check in and make sure therapy continues to feel helpful, relevant, and aligned with your needs and goals.
